The Marion Gray Memorial Scholarship Fund

Women’s History Month $1,000 Scholarship Contest

LEAD International launched the first annual Marion Gray Memorial Scholarship Fund Women’s History Month Contest in 2006. Marion Gray was a founding board member and former Chair of LEAD International who had a passion for education and women’s history. Students from Middlebury High School and Harwood Union High School have won past $1,000 scholarship awards and, accompanied by their families, were honored at events in Montpelier.

This year’s scholarship winner will be announced mid-March 2008. The winner will receive a $1,000 scholarship and the 2 runners up will receive gifts.

The 2008 Women’s History Month theme, Women’s Art: Women’s Vision, recognizes the important contributions that women artists impart upon our communities. This year’s contest will focus on Vermont women artists (visual artists, writers, musicians, singers, filmmakers, dancers, theater performers, photographers, etc.)
